So here we are again another H&M designer collaboration, not to sound cynical in the least as we are super excited for the launch of the full collection on the 15th November. Obviously our main curiosity has been what will the collection be like, how will Maison Martin Margiela approach the collaboration, whilst staying true to the labels ethos.
Well finally the pictures from the look book have flooded the internet causing a real serge of opinions and anticipation. MMM use the collaboration as a chance to create a pick & mix from the label’s archive, re-issuing and re-creating staple pieces from past collections. The result is a collection full of oversized proportions and deconstructed silhouettes, to verging on the avant-garde with their playful accessories from a guitar bag to the surrealistic chic glove hand hybrid bags.
For men you can expect a playful selection of angular silhouettes from an uneven length contrast chambray trench coat, deconstructed shearling coat, graphic slogan knitwear to minimalist tailoring. Whilst the womenswear is a real treat for fans of the brand re-issuing classic designs from the iconic quilted bedding-esque coat, voluminous panelled draping to masculine outsized tailored and casual silhouettes.
Well let the countdown begin, and see you at the launch!
